Telstra Footy Country Grants

As the foundation of our great game and the heartbeat of communities, investment in local clubs is vital to ensuring everyone has access to play Aussie Rules and experience the health, social and wellbeing benefits that come with belonging to a club.

The Telstra Footy Country Grants is designed to financially assist initiatives that can support Community Clubs affiliated to the AFL to strengthen the base and secure the future in three key strategic areas:
- Grow and assist volunteer capacity
- Grow and diversify participation
- Improve club environments and experiences.

Women & Change Grant

Each year Women and Change offers a grant of up to $50,000 to eligible charitable organisations with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status that support vulnerable Queenslanders. Their members are interested in projects that deliver sustainable change and are particularly interested in supporting new initiatives.  

Preference will be given to applicants whose projects deliver positive outcomes for Queenslanders living in disadvantage.

The application process consists of two steps.
- An Expression of Interest round, closing 5pm on 25th July 2025
- A full application by invitation only for shortlisted applicants closing 5pm on 12th September 2025.

Regional Australia Bank Sponsorship

Provides essential support to key grassroots initiatives within the Regional Australia Bank network. Any community group is able to apply for support in the form of sponsorship. 

Sponsorships are assessed in accordance with the Community Support Policy and should fall into one of the following category - Arts, Community activities, Education or employment related activities, Environmental, Health, Indigenous/cultural and Sporting.

Macca's Junior Sports Grants

McDonald's provides grants to schools or groups within Western Australia to provide basic sporting infrastructure for a school or sporting group for an activity which is likely to encourage kids to participate in sport. Macca's Junior Sports Grants is currently only open to regional clubs within WA.

​If your school or club is in Western Australia and requires equipment, uniforms or something else that encourages participation in sport, you are eligible to apply.

When drafting your application, please consider that the total funds available for each round amounts to $40,000 split equally between regional and metro applicants. To be considered for a grant, an itemised quote(s) must be submitted with your application in order to verify the cost of items requested.

Litter Prevention Grants Program

The NSW Government has opened the Waste and Sustainable Materials Strategy 2041 (WASM) Litter Prevention Grants Program for councils, community groups and other key stakeholders to deliver litter prevention projects and develop strategic plans to address litter in their local environments.

Community Wildlife Conservation Award

The award acknowledges and rewards individuals or conservation groups that work tirelessly to save Australia’s native wildlife and precious habitats, and encourages them to continue their excellent work on behalf of the community.

The Society offers four prestigious Annual Awards:

1. Community Wildlife Conservation Award ($5,000)
   - Awarded to a community group making a significant contribution to wildlife preservation in Australia.

2. Wildlife Rehabilitation Award ($5,000)
   - Awarded to an individual or small organisation contributing to Australian wildlife conservation through rescue and rehabilitation.

​3. Serventy Conservation Award ($2,500)

   - Awarded to an individual helping to save Australia's wildlife 

​4. Youth Conservation Award ($1,000)
   - Awarded to a young individual (or small group) contributing to Australian wildlife conservation
   - Applicants must be between the ages of 13 and 18 years old.

Frank Hall-Bentick Education Fund

Assists indigenous and non-indigenous people with disability to participate in both formal and informal education programs through small financial grants.

Education is continuously growing and developing so many people undertake courses to pick up the education that was not completed or to begin a new education. With the development of technology, education has become more accessible for people with disabilities allowing people to complete higher levels of education which in turn can lead to more complex and skilled work.

This fund distributes six-monthly financial grants of up to $2,500 to assist people with disabilities to continue or commence their learning.

SEDI Capability Building Grant

SEDI Grants will help social enterprises purchase business and impact capability building services. These services can be from intermediaries and other businesses that support social enterprises to grow their business, scale their impact and further their mission to support Australians experiencing disadvantage.

​The initiative supports social enterprises across all states and territories and includes a focus on supporting those social enterprises in regional and remote locations, and First Nations social enterprises.

Remote Communities Freight Assistance Scheme

The Scheme aims to reduce the amount of freight costs that are passed on to consumers of eligible goods in remote communities.

The Scheme provides three types of assistance to wholly or partly reimburse eligible business owners:

1. Establishment Assistance: a reimbursement (where applicable) to help offset establishment activities costs 

  • $20,000 (plus GST) for each of the approved premises of the eligible business

  • $110,000 (plus GST)

  • Closes: 12 January 2026

2. Discount Assistance: weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments to reimburse the eligible business for the relevant weekly, fortnightly or monthly discount shortfalls 

  • Closes: 30 June 2028, or until funding is exhausted

3. Compliance Assistance: payments to reimburse the weekly, fortnightly or monthly compliance cost to the business in making a Discount Assistance claim.

  • $250 (plus GST) for each participating premises of the eligible business;

  • $2,900 (plus GST)

  • Closes: 30 June 2028, or until funding is exhausted

Connecting to Country

The Connecting to Country program supports projects that enable Western Australian Aboriginal people and organisations to undertake on Country activities that foster the intergenerational transfer of  knowledge, preservation of culture and strengthening of communities. The program intends to:

  • facilitate sharing of cultural knowledge and skills between generations, such as the preservation of language, stories and dance

  • recognise Aboriginal cultural leadership within the Aboriginal community and support leadership development in young people

  • contribute to stronger community mental health and wellbeing

  • strengthen, protect and maintain traditional ways of maintaining cultural knowledge.
