Our programs are designed by and with First Nations people, ensuring they reflect real community priorities and create lasting impact. When Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are empowered to lead decision-making, outcomes are stronger, trust is deeper, and programs are more effective and sustainable.

We believe that strong connection to culture, language, and Country builds identity, pride, and resilience. These connections form the foundation for confident individuals, strong families, and thriving communities.

The Mibilla Foundation partners with Mibilla Pty Ltd, a First Nations-owned social enterprise that reinvests its profits into the Foundation. Together, we’re building a model of community-led change - where economic empowerment supports long-term wellbeing, and every initiative contributes to self-determination.

Our Priorities

Economic Empowerment

Employment and enterprise development are vital to building dignity, financial independence, and long-term community wellbeing.

Meaningful  work  provides  income,  purpose,  and  transferable  skills,  while  Aboriginal-led businesses foster leadership, create role models, and deliver culturally appropriate services.

Financially stable individuals  support  others, reinvesting in their local community, creating a ripple effect  that reduces reliance on welfare, strengthens  local economies, and empowers communities to drive their own solutions.

Education

Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking cycles of poverty and disadvantage.

It opens pathways to employment, higher incomes, and leadership roles, while also building confidence, critical thinking, and informed decision-making.

By improving health literacy, encouraging civic participation, and supporting intergenerational change,  education  not  only  transforms  individual  lives  but  also  strengthens  families  and communities across generations.

Housing

Safe and stable housing is the cornerstone of wellbeing, providing the essential foundation for individuals and families to thrive.

Without  secure  accommodation,  it  is  difficult  to  maintain  employment,  support  children’s education, manage health, or plan for the future.

Stable housing  ensures  consistency in  schooling and  work, while safe, good-quality homes protect  against  chronic  health issues,  family conflict, and unsafe living conditions, enabling people to focus on long-term growth rather than day-to-day survival.

Health & Wellbeing

Strong health and wellbeing are essential foundations for individuals, families, and communities to thrive.

We recognise that improving health outcomes isn’t just about services - it’s about equity, dignity, and ensuring our people have the resources and support to live full, self-determined lives.

We prioritise initiatives that strengthen wellbeing by addressing the root causes - such as secure housing, education, economic empowerment, and connection to culture.

By working alongside community, we aim to reduce barriers, improve access, and support long-term healing and resilience.
